Rx2 Shuttle: Canberra to Batemans Bay and South Coast

Rixons Buses offer a daily afternoon shuttle bus from Canberra and ACT/Queanbeyan to any address in Batemans Bay and the south coast of NSW (Milton, Ulladulla down to Tuross Head). This includes an optional door-to-door pick-up and drop-off to and from your addresses within our covered area. Select your standard pick-up and drop-off points at no extra cost OR custom pick-up or drop-off suburbs for a small extra. We go to any address within the custom suburbs. Note: all stops are ‘on-demand’ and that means times are approximate.

• Canberra Hospital (3:45pm), Hospital Road, near reception.
• Woden Interchange Platform 1 (4:00pm)
• Canberra Private Hospital, Equinox Business Park, 70 Kent St (4:15pm)
• Deakin – John James Medical (4:15-20pm)
• Floriade, 12 Sep-11 Oct only (~4:20pm)
• Civic, 49 Alinga Street, between Moore and Marcus Clarke Streets (4:30pm)
• Canberra Airport (4:45pm), ground floor arrivals, near Thrifty Car Rentals.
• Queanbeyan Bus Interchange (Bay 4) nearest Collett Street. (4:55pm-5:00pm)
• Queanbeyan Legacy Village Stop (green bus shelter), Kings Hwy (5:00pm)
• Bungendore, Gibraltar St, bus stop near Police Station. (5:15pm)

Custom suburbs: We pick-up from selected suburbs in the ACT. Pick-up times can vary but will mostly be after 3pm. The driver will call you on the day with details. For a list of suburbs, please see list below.

Off-Highway Pick-ups.
To ensure our services remain efficient and timely, we have updated our pick-up locations. We no longer offer direct door-to-door pick-ups for suburbs located off the main highway, including Depot Beach, Pebbly Beach, North Durras, South Durras, Kings Point, Pretty Beach, Turlinjah, Congo, Coila, Meringo, and Bingie. While we are unable to enter these residential areas, we are happy to facilitate a collection point at the nearest safe highway intersection. These highway pick-ups generally incur a $20 fee. If you are travelling from one of these areas, please select the nearest highway junction when booking or contact us if you require further clarification on the best meeting point for your journey.

Floriade 2026
For the period 12th September to 11th October, we will add a stop of Floriade. There is no extra cost for stopping or picking up at this point. To book, select Floriade in the Drop (for Rx1) and or Pick-Up (for Rx2). More details about this year’s Floriade are here.

Change: Jolimont stop is now 49 Alinga Street
We have made a little change to the main stop in Civic.  We will no longer stop at Jolimont (Northbourne). Our new stop will is 49 Alinga Street, at the east facing bus stop near the footbridge. It’s just around the corner from the old stop, between Moore and Marcus Clarke Streets. It is easy to find, but here is a nice map:

For Calvary Hospital in Bruce, the pick-up area is the bus stop on Mary Potter Circuit. The stop is at the southern end of the circuit, close to Sylvia Curley Rd (the side street). If, however, you have mobility issues just let us know where you will be, and we will get to you.

Canberra Airport
We pick-up from outside Thrifty Car Rental shopfront on the ground floor. You will need to be there between 4.25-4.30pm (which for a flight, it would mean landing prior to 4pm). If you have not been to Canberra Airport, do not stress. It’s a small airport and the pick-up area is hard to miss. Just find the ‘car rentals’ and we’ll be there. If you are early, there is a waiting area just near the pick-up point. If you have a long time to wait, IKEA and the Canberra Outlet Centre are a very short Uber/taxi.  Just don’t buy a huge sofa.

• Bungendore Post Office (5:15pm)
• Braidwood: near Police Station (5:50pm)
• Nelligen Steampacket Hotel (6:40pm)
• Batemans Bay Orient Street Bus Stop, near North St corner (6:50pm)

For Custom Pick-Up and Drop Offs, select the suburbs in the menus then add your specific address. We accept cash payments and cleared funds via credit/debit card.  Cheque payments must be cleared before travel.

Wheelchair Access
We have several wheelchair accessible buses available. For wheelchair bookings, it is essential to book at least one day in advance. This is so can allocate the correct bus for day. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Provision of Contact Information
Passengers are responsible for ensuring that Rixons Bus Service has an active mobile contact number for their day of travel. While Rixons strives to maintain all scheduled services, we reserve the right to cancel or alter services due to unforeseen circumstances. Rixons is exempt from liability for any resulting costs or damages if a passenger cannot be notified due to an invalid or unreachable contact method.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
Rx1/2 Shuttle Cancellations: We require 24 hours notice unless otherwise discussed. All contact must be confirmed for validation. Late cancellation refunds are at the company’s discretion. Refunds can only be made back to the original card with which a booking was paid. Any fees we incur are passed on  to the customer. These are gernally around 1-2%.

Rixons ‘On Demand’

Rixons are part of Transport for NSW’s Rural and Regional Program to improve regional transport.
